NARS Dual-Intensity Blush – A new object of fascination, inspiration and pure transformation.

For Spring 2015, NARS cosmetics added a new range of blushes to their already very successful range of blushes. These blushes feature the NARS exclusive Translucent Prismatic Technology, a formula that allows for multi-dimensional effects with a uniquely weightless, luxurious texture. There are six modern shade pairings in the collection, specially curated by Francois Nars, offering a universal spectrum of hues that work across all skin tones.

There are 6 blushes in this collection in this collection, 3 different type of combinations – highlight/blush duo, pop duo, highlighting duo. This is why, you need to get at least 2 of these blushes to have a complete cheek look.

❤❤❤ Love every one of these Nars dual intensity blushes! Apply wet or dry, bronze, contour, highlight.. So exciting!! Available 6 May at $60 each..

L to R: Jubilation, Panic, Adoration, Frenzy, Fervor, Craving

What’s also really interesting are the names of these blushes, they were all named after emotions:

Highlight/Blush Duo:

FRENZY – (L) Sparkling soft pink-gold highlighter; (R) Shimmering bright tangerine orange

CRAVING – (L) Sparkling seashell pink highlighter; (R) Shimmering beachy bronze

ADORATION – (L) Sparkling baby pink; (R) Shimmering hot pink

Pop Duo:

PANIC – (L) Shimmering shocking fuschia; (R) Shimmering orange-pink

FERVOR – (L) Shimmering soft pink; (R) Sparkling deep coppery rose

Highlighting Duo:

JUBILATION – (L) Sparkling yellow gold highlighter; (R) Shimmering-soft nude peach

These blushes will be available in Singapore sometime early May. They will be retailing at $60 for each duo.

I was so excited about these blushes when I saw them popping up on social media and was ecstatic when I got to preview and play with them a couple weeks back.

Having been a huge fan of NARS blushes, I knew instantly that I would love these, and can I just say that they really did not disappoint at all. The blushes are encapsulated in a square soft case with magnetic closure – very sleek. First thought that came to mind was that these blushes bore the same embossing as NARS dual-intensity eyeshadows which were first launched late last year.

As the name suggests, these blushes are dual-intensity, meaning they can be used both wet and dry. You would expect these blushes to be more intense when used wet – like the eyeshadows, but the reality is quite the contrary. When used wet, these blushes deposit a translucent wash of color, less intense and more natural than when it is used dry – much like a watercolor effect. NARS suggests using the blush with it’s Wet/Dry Blush Brush. Dampen the brush, dab over apples of the cheeks, and swirl in circular motion.

During the preview, Julyen demonstrated how we can use the blush both wet and dry using the Wet/Dry Blush Brush. One of the questions I asked was, why would we want to use the blush wet when it works just fine dry. In fact, it is a lot more pigmented dry than wet. To which, he said, when it’s wet, it gives a different effect, much like a natural and glow from within look.

Just look at the glow and shimmer of these blushes. I mean, I love my matte blushes, but these are exceptional. They give the softest glowing flush on the cheeks. 4 of my faves are PANIC, JUBILATION, FRENZY and CRAVING. I currently have PANIC and JUBILATION, but will definitely pick up Frenzy and Craving once they launch.

In the pictures below, I was wearing PANIC on the cheeks and JUBILATION as my highlight. I really like how the blushes look so natural, I used my Suqqu brush to apply the blush.
